The Youth Encounter Series are regular training days helping Christians and Muslims learn about and reflect on youth work in a multi-faith context.

Youth Encounter Series

We will have a number of events during the year looking at different issues and topics. The events will vary, not only in their content, but in their style. There will be three distinct strands

Discipleship and Diversity

A training day for Christian Youth Workers wanting to help their young people live out their faith amongst their Muslim friends.

Cross Crescent and Cool:
A Training day looking at why and how Christians and Muslims should help build bridges between young people of the two faiths.
June 8th 11am - 2:30pm

This was the first event in the 'Develop' stream and was a practical day for youthworkers, volunteer youth leaders, faith leaders or those working in FE colleges or Universities.

The training was led by Wahida Shaffi from the Christian Muslim Forum along with Dr Andrew Smith from Youth Encounter and also the Christian Muslim Forum.

The first of these was on November 5th. The title of the course was

'When a Child Dies: Supporting Christian and Muslim Parents'.

In 2010 Andrew was invited to deliver some lectures at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut which are available to download the First was aLecture on Tolerance and Witness and the second aLecture on The Ethical Guidelines for Witness
