I am the Associate Scheme Coordinator, overseeing the work of our 40+ Associate Trusts which employ about 80 workers around England and Wales. The scheme enables local Trusts to be part of a national and international children’s and youth ministry. Scripture Union sees the work of Associates as part of the wider ministry of the movement as part of our calling to enable the development of ministry locally. To do this effectively I work closely with our seven regional teams to ensure that there is strong local support as well as capacity to see the schemes grow. We praise God for so much local ministry carried out by the associates. A particularly encouraging part of my role is to work to grow new associates ministries around the country and it is great to be busy meeting with people with vision to set up local ministry.
I have always had a lot of involvement in church life. As a volunteer I taught in Sunday school and led home groups for about10 years while working in IT as a business analyst. Before joining Scripture Union I worked part-time for a church as a youth and children’s worker for 3 years. During this time I completed a Theology and Vocation correspondence course at St John’s College in Nottingham.
Having moved to Milton Keynes I attend New Life North church and am invloved in the childrens work there. Outside of work I enjoy reading, going to the cinema and travelling.
