Field Team Leader
I joined the staff of Scripture Union in 1997 having served on various volunteer teams for several years. My role today bridges two areas. As an Associate Director I share responsibility for the strategic review and development of the movement. This is largely focused on the field activity as Team Leader with responsibility for the seven Regional Teams across England and Wales. My passion remains to see children fully embraced within the mission of the church across the UK and beyond, which as well as being a core strand of Scripture Union’s ministry is extended through my complementary role as Director of Children Matter!
Children Matter! is a coalition of organisations seeking to unite behind an agenda for children in the UK. The goal is to double in a decade the number of children that the UK church connects with. Scripture Union is a founding partner in Children Matter! and have released me for one day a week to steer this important work across a wide range of organisations, denominations and networks.
I am kept sane, focused and rooted by my wife Claire and we are partners in crime parenting David, Amelia, Ben and Jessica. We worship together as part of a Baptist church in Milton Keynes where I serve on the leadership team.
