When I was 15, I recall becoming a Christian at a beach mission. It all suddenly made sense, remembering the teaching of Bible stories from my Sunday School days. Before joining the staff of Scripture Union, I used to work as a Learning Support Assistant at a local junior school and while I was there, I set up a Christian club on a Wednesday lunchtime. Forty pupils came along to it each week and heard about how God loved and cared for them. I was also able to invite people in to speak in RE lessons as well as assemblies and occasional lunchtime Christian concerts. I married Chris and we now have two grown-up children, Matthew and Rachael.

I have a real passion to see children develop a relationship with Jesus and now through my work for Scripture Union I have some wonderful opportunities. Running residential holidays, X:Site programmes, taking primary school assemblies and being a school governor are just some of the things I really enjoy doing. One day after taking a school assembly, a young girl came up to me and said, 'My mummy was not very well in the night and I remembered what you said in our assembly last week that God listens and can make people better. I prayed and Mummy did get better.' It is a joy to chat with children about God.
