What is En:able?

This part of the Scripture Union web site offers some helpful guidelines on:

• how to include children/young people with disabilities within a church group setting
• how the Disability Discrimination Act affects places of worship.

What do we mean by children with disabilities?

The term ‘disability’ can include impairments to the senses, language and communication and learning.

Some children will have more than one disability but never presume that because a child has a physical disability that they also have a learning disability. You will need to find out about the individuals you have the privilege of working with and look at the child before you think of their particular disabilities. Different children will have different strengths and weaknesses and therefore will be able to contribute more or need help in different areas
