Disability

The term ‘disability’ can include impairments to the senses, language and communication, social interaction and learning as well as physical disability.

Some children will have more than one disability but never presume that a child with a physical disability also has a learning disability. Find out about the individuals you have the privilege of working with and look at the child before you think of their particular disabilities. Different children  have different strengths and weaknesses and will be able to contribute more or need help in different ways.
