Every year 4,000 people have the time of their lives as volunteers with Scripture Union. It's fun, it's challenging, it's rewarding. It's about enjoyment, laughter, making new friends, faith-building and encouragement all rolled into one unforgettable experience.
There's a wide range of opportunities available, so volunteering with Scripture Union can suit everyone. Yes, even you.
Volunteers can serve on residential holidays, missions, tailor-made work placements, and overseas! There's also opportunities to work at SU's national office or in your local community. All events have one thing in common - using the Bible to introduce children and young people to Jesus.
Holidays
More than one hundred residential holidays throughout the year designed to entertain and evangelise to thousands of children and young people.
Missions
Missions range from established beach events to exciting urban adventures, where volunteers seek to get holidaymakers and local children, young people and families excited about God.
International
Short- and long-term placements all over the world including Australia, South Africa, Peru, India, Romania and Slovakia.
Action Now!
A flexible UK work-placement scheme where volunteers choose how they want to work.
SU National Office
Can you spare an occasional hour in your busy schedule? The people at Scripture Union's National Office in beautiful Bletchley are always on the look out for people.
Working with field staff
Fancy helping your local town? Scripture Union has staff working in schools, churches and communities all over England and Wales and they often welcome assistance!
Think you're not suited to being a volunteer? Think again. The programme needs all kinds of people - from those with leadership skills, to those with musical, artistic or dramatic abilities. We need those who can organise games, those who are IT and electronic-type people and those who can lead small groups or Bible studies. And then there's the need for caterers, cleaners, first-aiders… the list goes on! The only requirement is that you're aged between 16 and 160 (or older if you're up for it!) and you have a passion for God and a desire to live out and share your faith with others. So really, there's no excuse.
Think you've got better things to do? Let us try to convince you!
