Bringing up children in our complex world with its many pressures is not easy. As Christians we long to see our children grow up to know and love God, but it doesn't always work out that way. We sometimes don't know how to set about encouraging our children to think biblically or to engage with the Bible for themselves.
For those who want to read more about this Families with Faith is an ideal book.
One of the best things that we can do is to be natural in the way in which we relate our faith to daily living and to talk about things as they arise from a biblical perspective. For some help with specific information, look at the following articles which give some background thinking, some relevant Bible material and some practical ways to help the conversation forward - see the link on the right.

Praying and reading the Bible together is an important part of this. For younger children a simple Bible story book and a brief prayer forms the ideal starting point. As children grow it is good to encourage them to look at the actual text in a version they can understand. Tiddlywinks (for 3-5) - see link. Join In, Jump On (for 5-7) - available from our shop and Snapshots (8-10) - see link, can all be used by adults with children although many in the Snapshots age will want to do it themselves. Even then they will need encouragement and support and it is good to talk with them about the things they have been reading. Older children and teenagers can develop their reading with SUbmerge - see link, and Airlock, and DAYZD both available from our shop – but will still benefit from chatting about their reading in sensitive way.
Learning the Bible is very valuable and much easier when we are young – and even easier when there's music as well. Check out the Learn and Remember song downloads available from our shop.
