Unprecedented demand for Essential 100
Unprecedented demand for Essential 100
Date: 30/11/2010
Over 3,500 copies of Essential 100 have been sold since October 2010 and publisher Scripture Union is expecting an urgent delivery of an additional 4,000 copies. However, customer demand for this second print run has prompted Scripture Union to print yet another 5,000 copies within a few days of ordering the first reprint!
James Burden, Associate Director at Scripture Union said, ‘It’s been very exciting to have so many people so passionate about Bible reading that customer demand has encouraged us to reprint Essential 100 for a third time. This is the type of problem any publisher loves to have!’
The E100 Bible Reading Challenge is based around the 100 carefully selected Old and New Testament Bible readings in Essential 100, designed to give people a good understanding of the overall Bible story from Genesis to Revelation. The E stands for Essential and each of the Essential 100 readings ranges from a few verses to a few chapters. The programme is very flexible and can be used by an individual or adapted to the context of the local church. Through completing the challenge, participants are encouraged to build a regular habit of spending time with God through Bible reading and prayer
As 2011 will be the year of the Bible, the E100 Bible Reading Challenge has captured the imagination of hundreds of congregations across the country who will soon be embarking on a Bible adventure together.
Three leading Bible agencies: Bible Society, Scripture Union and Wycliffe, worked together to launch the E100 Bible Reading Challenge this year with the goal of stimulating Bible reading across Britain and Ireland as part of Biblefresh.
The new stock of Essential 100 will arrive by the middle of December, so if you’d like copies make sure you order them soon!
