First Tuesday Prayers - 7 February

This month our focus is in our North West Region

Please join us to pray for those people working with and for Scripture Union – to help God’s kingdom arrive more fully in the North West. Currently our most significant prayer request is for the people who make up the NW team as we seek to grow and work together across the region. We have a number of key volunteers who run regional holidays, volunteer in local schools or through their churches.

Here are some of our key volunteers involved in schools ministry.

Please also pray for Nick Cowan as he has recently joined the team as a key volunteer.

The NW has a range of regional holidays which are specifically aimed at young people and children from the region. Plans are well underway for 2012 so please pray for the leaders:

Helen Rowlandson:                    leader of Step Out (11 to 15s residential)

Simon Smith:                            leader of Voice Residential (new for 2012)

Robin Gerrard:                           leader of The Mix family holiday (with the NE and Yorkshire region)

Richard W and John S:               leaders of Geared for Growth (with the NE and Yorkshire region)

Please pause and give thanks for Paul North and the team of leaders who recently led Resolution over the New Year and all the young people who attended.

The NW also has a number of Affiliates who are volunteers who offer advice and guidance as well as strategic insight. Please pray for them and for us as we seek to develop these roles to their full potential.

The NW also has a number of Associate Trusts. Through these Trusts we support churches and other Christian groups in working together locally, to reach children and young people in schools.

Richard – Acorn Primary Schools project (new – a partnership between Wirral YFC and Scripture Union)

The NW team could also include interns and students who are currently training to be youth and children workers. We are beginning the process of recruiting four interns and have secured two Liverpool placements for a student and are seeking to secure the finance to turn this into a reality.

Please also pray for the staff team in the NW who seek to work with churches and schools so that children, young people and families encounter the good news of Jesus and meet with God through prayer and the Bible.
