There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved in summer missions around the UK. Each mission is different, flavoured by the different locations and the different teams running them. But at every single one you’ll find a group of friendly and committed team members, with a strong sense of God’s purpose in what they’re doing. If you’ve got experience and skills in relevant areas – great! But don’t worry if you haven’t, because there will be experienced people supporting you and helping you grow in new areas.
Team working… Bible-based discussion in small groups… silly games…arts and crafts… drama… sports… evangelistic outreach… fun and laughter… missions are an amazing mix of activities – and you can be part of it. You may think you are just an ordinary person – but you can be involved in something pretty extraordinary. You have a unique set of skills and there’s a special place for you on a Scripture Union mission this summer. Yes, you will be stretched – emotionally, spiritually and physically. But it’s always tremendously rewarding to be part of how God is making a difference in the lives of children and young people and their communities.
All the teams are over 18, but there are some junior team places for 14- to 17-year-olds. There is no upper age limit; having more mature people on a team is a real plus, adding complementary gifts which make the whole team more effective.
