These events are schools-based projects which aim to unite the churches across a community to help children to think for themselves about Christmas and Easter.
Children come with their teachers as a class for one and half hour sessions. They are placed into groups of ten with a volunteer leader from a local church who can answer their questions about the Christian faith.
The presentation is for year 6 pupils from local schools being run by volunteers from churches across location who will have been checked for their suitability to work with children.
The presentation will be a fast moving multi- media presentation lasting an hour and a half and includes:
• Individual work packs designed for year 6
• A graphic telling of the Christmas/Easter Story
• An explanation of many of the modern Christmas/Easter traditions
• A craft activity based around the Christmas/Easter theme
The presentation is aimed at children of all faiths, giving an explanation of why Christmas is an important festival for Christians.
