Basecamp: Transforming the Lake District whilst transforming lives!
Basecamp is for young people aged 16 and over, who want to grow in their relationship with God, develop leadership skills and make a practical difference to an area of outstanding natural beauty. You will be working alongside National Trust wardens on local conservation projects in the Lake District, such as building and repairing footpaths, dry stone walling and rhododendron slaying. At the same time, we aim to nurture your self-confidence in your own leadership abilities and develop leadership skills for use at school, university, work, church and in the whole of life!
Expect laughter, good fellowship, fabulous food, mud, excellent Bible teaching, relaxation, swimming in Lake Windermere, outdoor activities (i.e. kayaking, canoeing, raft building, climbing or similar things), worship, water fights, night walks, ice creams and more mud.
You need to come with an enquiring mind, prepared to be challenged in your faith and ready to encounter God. Desirable, but not essential, are a large capacity for tea and cake, little need of sleep and a party trick for the bonfire
