Family Spirituality - Christmas Labyrinth

Family Spirituality  - ‘Dream’ in Liverpool

Each month ‘Dream’ takes place in Liverpool. Children and their parents get together to explore faith and spirituality through reflection and creativity. In December our session included a Labyrinth.

The Core aims of the group are:

  1. Christ-centred – We’re seeking to develop a spirituality centred on Jesus Christ and lives that are formed by following him.
  2. Open – We believe that everyone brings something unique and valuable to our community.
  3. Relational – We are committed to building communities, rather than simply putting on events. This happens through sharing ownership and encouraging honest support of one other in our daily lives
  4. Experimental – We want to ‘re-imagine church’. That needs creativity and experimentation in exploring a wide range of approaches to prayer and worship.

The Christmas labyrinth

We took the same format as written above. The theme was ‘Christmas journeys’ and focused on the journeys of the characters in the Christmas story as well as our own personal journey with Jesus. Download details of the Family Spirituality - Labyrinth .

  • Share a meal together
  • Games – Christmassy games using Christmassy music.

  • Reflection time – thinking about the journeys we might make this Christmas – the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem – the journey that Jesus took to be with us (from heaven to earth) – and that through Jesus, God is with us ‘Immanuel.’
  • Creative response
