Olympics - Running The Race

These meeting outlines will allow your group to have some fun based on an Olympic theme. The Christian life is often described as a race. This idea is used to help your group think about their own response to Jesus.

Shoulder to shoulder

Shoulder to Shoulder is all about school Christian groups - just like yours - raising money to support child-headed households. It explores the lives of young people who have been orphaned by AIDS. They then have to take on the responsibility of caring for their siblings.

Tearfund Shoulder to Shoulder

We have  joined forces with Tearfund in this unique venture.  The idea is a really simple one - you can stand shoulder to shoulder with your peers in other parts of the world by getting sponsored to take on extra responsibilities around your school or home.

Everything that you need to get started can be downloaded from a special section of the Tearfund website. There is a 6 min DVD (which can also be streamed), group session outlines, assembly script, letter to schools, letter to parents, forms, FAQs etc.

Our Shoulder to Shoulder Quick Start Guide will help you get going but to get all the details, you'll need to visit the S2S website.

Choosing the best outlines for your group

Groups come in all shapes and sizes. To help you select the best material for your group the outlines have been written with this in mind. The first choice you have is linked to the age of the students coming to your group. When you have identified their age you can then select from two possible outlines

  1. Limited Church Background (LCB). These outlines are aimed at those who have little experience of church and the Bible so very little prior knowledge is assumed.

  2. Mainly Church Background (MCB). These outlines are aimed at those who are more familiar with church and the Bible and some prior knowledge is assumed. Some of these outlines aim to challenge Christian young people to move on in their faith.
