Lifepath Olney is an exciting opportunity to help 400 to 600 local school children learn about the life of John Newton, his role in the abolition of the slave trade and the impact of God on his life. But the event also aims to present the story of the God who changed Newton's life and continues to change lives today, and to encourage the children to think about their own 'lifepath'. Lifepath Olney is being organised in partnership with Milton Keynes Bridgebuilder Trust, Bedford Schools Trust and the local churches of Olney.
Volunteers can be involved in a number of different ways. There are opportunities to lead workshops, guiding a group of children and their teachers through the experience or helping with stewarding or registration. Lifepath Olney takes place during school hours, so volunteers will need to be available between 9.15 and 3.30pm.
