Roles Explained

Want to volunteer but not sure which role will suit you best? Hopefully this short guide will be the help you need!

Team Member

This is the majority of our volunteers. If you are hoping to be a group leader or work face-to-face with children or young people then you need to select Team Member. If you are applying to volunteer on a holiday then everyone over 18 must complete this form. For Frontline (international missions) all volunteers regardless of age should select this option.

Junior Team

Specifically for those under 18 who need parental consent. Not all events are able to accept Junior Team so it is a good idea to contact the event leader before applying. If you want to volunteer for Frontline and are under 18 you should select the Team Member option.

Support Team

For those on Summer Missions or X:site events who have no direct contact or sole supervision of young people e.g. mission team caterers, X:site stewards.

If you are unsure about which role to choose then select Team Member.

Not all roles are available on all events.

Regardless of your role all of those working as part of Scripture Union need to read this important (but not massively long) document. On your application form you will have to confirm that you have read it and agree to the principles contained within it. Ministry with SU Leaflet
