Chester Schools' Christian Work will demonstrate and share the Christian message of God's love through building relationships with staff and pupils and developing a supportive work in Chester schools.

Workers


Paul North (part time) - Senior Schools Worker

Paul is married to the lovely Jan and has two children, Lois and William. He is a keen sportsman and writer and is part-time lay Chaplain at the local Church of England high school.  He has been a Schools Worker in Chester since 2000. 

Paul is the Senior High Schools Worker.  He leads the team and spends his time taking assemblies, lessons and RE days.  When he is not doing this he is managing staff, dealing with the day to day issues of the trust and working on developing resources.  He also leads a residential holiday at New Year called ‘Resolution’.


Gareth Cheesman (part time) - SRE Projects Co-ordinator

Gareth trained as a Christian youth worker and subsequently found a fresh focus in delivering sex and relationship education. He has worked in church and community youth clubs and enjoys the challenge of helping young people reach their full potential. He also likes fish!

Gareth provides Sex and Relationship education from a Christian perspective in Chester high schools. The team tackle thorny issues such as body image, relationships, condoms and pornography. You can read more about Gareth’s work at www.srestuff.blogspot.com


Nick Sherratt (part time) - High Schools Worker

As a Schools Worker, Nick is producing and delivering assemblies in Chester schools and supporting school Christian Union across the city. He is currently working with other team members to deliver a play to be toured around the Chester schools.

He is also studying Theology at masters level and enjoys acting and kayaking.


Andy Avery (part time) - Primary Schools Worker

Andy describes himself as a 38 year old child who enjoys sport, music and being with friends. “I always try and have a smile on my face - even on Monday mornings”!

Andy heads up the work in the Chester Primary Schools, leading 9 assemblies each week and co-ordinating the 50 volunteers from 20 different churches who help out with the work.  He also drink lots of coffee!


Cathy Robinson (part time) - Administrator

Cathy is responsible for general communications; project administration; prayer letters; databases; letters; emails; and making most of the tea!

She is married to Lee and has two children, Isaac and Charlotte
