The recruitment process

After we have received an application form, it can go through a number of processes, namely:

  • shortlisting/selection - all applications reach this stage
  • interview – all shortlisted candidates will have an interview
  • assessment and second interview – this will depend on the nature of the role
  • decision making process.

The timescale of the recruitment process depends on the amount of applications received and the nature of the position you are applying for.

If you are considered for a position at Scripture Union we have a legal responsibility to ensure that you have the right to work in the UK, please see section Eligibility to work in the UK.

Taking up references:

We take up three references, one from your current or most recent employer, one from your church leader and a personal reference.

References will be taken up for candidates at the job offer stage, however it is helpful to the process if we are able to take up references prior to interview and you are given the opportunity on the application form to indicate whether you give your permission for us to do so.

We will always contact you by email or post should your application not be successful.
