Training

Short Term Training Programs

Below you will find details of our forthcoming conferences.

Active learning opportunities are available for individuals and teams from churches who join us on holiday missions which provide experience and first hand training working as part of a wider team. Teams operate for a week or two in various centres in London and throughout the country during the summer and at Spring Harvest and the Keswick Convention. Churches can develop their experience and skills base for evangelism by sending a team along to partner us in mission elsewhere.

Long Term Training Programs

Scripture Union, in association with Cliff College, run a two-year Diploma course in Children's Evangelism and Nurture. Units include Theology & Culture, The Child and The Church, Ethics of Evangelism and Personal and Professional Development. Part-taught and part-researched, the course also includes placements and a dissertation.

Scripture Union, in partnership with several other Christian organisations and Moorlands College, manage a year long training program called e-livate which offers training to Christian workers, in a voluntary or paid capacity, equipping them to express their faith and impact the world. The course offers training in five main areas; understanding the Bible, development of self, preparation for mission (both at home and abroad) - theory and practice, and involvement in mission in the form of a placement. The e-livate program includes a taught element, five assignments completed by correspondence and a supervised placement in a local church or Christian organisation. Download brochure (PDF format).

In addition
  • We are developing a number of short courses designed for those whose ministry with children includes leadership responsibilities, whether full or part-time. Using a programme of Bible studies, group work, teaching and practical workshops. Participants have the opportunity to discover the best way to engage with children.
  • Also available are 5 day residential courses for "Training in Schools Work", and "Advanced School for Schools Workers" course (download brochure as PDF); Light Training Days etc.

Consultation and Partnership

Talk to us about developing opportunities for mission in your area. We may be able to offer advice, ideas, and support to enable work amongst children, young people and families to grow and develop into the next Millennium. We are increasingly working in partnership with groups of local churches.
