Join our worldwide celebration of 150 years

150th anniversary celebrations and events will be happening in different ways all around the world. In the UK Scripture Union England & Wales has organised a special event in London on Friday 2nd June when people will be gathering to celebrate and to pray near to the place where Josiah Spiers held his first meeting for children and where Scripture Union was born.

We hope as many people as possible will come and join in the day.

St Mark’s Church in Kennington is the venue for the event which will run from 10:00 – 15:30.

It will be a morning of worship and ministry-themed prayer stations followed by lunch and then a Walk of Prayer and Praise in Islington, the birthplace of SU led by SU International Director, Janet Morgan. There will also be two other prayer choices of a gathering in Trafalgar Square to pray for SU around the world or a gathering in Kennington Park to pray for the influence of Christians on the government in Britain.

Everyone is welcome to attend and we're hoping to be joined by SU staff, volunteers and supporters.

Wherever you are, we hope you will join us in prayer – thanking God for the dedicated volunteers and staff in England, Wales and around the world, who have cheerfully given their time, energy and skills to enable children and young people to discover Jesus.
