What part will you play in God's mission to a world in need?
The question is, are you ready to submerge yourself in another culture for up to four weeks, and take part in an exciting adventure, learning to be dependent on God's strength, rather than your own? If this sounds of interest, read on.
Scripture Union operates in more than 130 countries, so there's plenty of opportunity to work cross-culturally with children and young people. The majority of Front Line teams go out to Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union (CIS).
You could be organising Bible discovery sessions for teenagers, leading craft activities for children, teaching English, arranging games and sport and so much more!
All our summer teams differ, so there's bound to be something for you. One aim they all have in common – to introduce children and young people to Jesus Christ in a way that's relevant to their needs and their community.
You'll need more information so that you can make some choices, about what you do and where to go.
Go... but why?
- Get out of your home comfort zones
- See another part of the world
- Witness God at work in another culture
- Work as a team sharing the gospel
- Get a taste of working abroad
- Gain an understanding of the spiritual needs of another country
- Develop new friendships
Whatever your motivation, God will use your desires to glorify him. God will use this opportunity to:
- Deepen your relationship with him
- Teach you to be reliant on his strength rather than your own
- Help you to appreciate the needs of others
- Show you what he is doing to reach out in love to a needy world.
Opportunities for churches to send teams
The great thing about Front Line teams is that they're for all ages from 16+! You can go either as an individual joining a team from Britain or as a team from your local church, prayer group or youth group.
Go on!
Pray and talk
Before going any further, you might want to pray about this, and talk it through with anyone else you would like to involve.

"Being without hot water, for two weeks was a real eye opener, how much we take for granted in our daily lives, we allow things to crowd out the presence of God. Being in Peru seemed to strip all that away, seeing God at work & being able to help with that work. I thank God for this opportunity, which I thought I would never get. Peru, the people and most of all the children are in my heart.

"I learnt that language is not a barrier to meeting with God in church, his presence can be felt wherever & in whatever circumstances, He is the same awesome God everywhere! I also learnt that God is able to use you in ways you didn't expect or intend that even if the purpose of you're trip/activity is one thing he can use you to do a far greater more long-lasting thing without you even realising!
